Clapzo — Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Clapzo collects, why, and what rights you have over it. Clapzo is operated by Clapzo, based in France. Questions about this policy: contact@getclapzo.com.
What we collect
- Contact details — your WhatsApp number when you message us to buy or ask for support, and your email address if you provide one for delivery of your purchase.
- License activation data — when you activate a purchased license, we store the license key, a one-way hashed version of a machine identifier from your device (never the raw identifier), your IP address, your country, and the time of activation. This exists to enforce that each license is used on one device and to detect unauthorized redistribution.
- Download data — when you download software from us, we log the filename, your IP address, your country, and the time of the download.
- Website usage — our hosting provider automatically logs aggregated visit statistics (pages viewed, approximate location, referring site). This is a standard hosting feature, not something we configure per visitor, and it does not use cookies.
We do not collect payment card details directly — payments are handled by Gumroad, and we only see that a payment was made, not your card information.
Why we collect it
- To deliver the product you purchased and provide support.
- To enforce license terms — specifically, to prevent one purchase from being used on an unlimited number of devices.
- To understand, at a basic level, how the site and downloads are being used.
Who we share it with
We use the following services to operate Clapzo, each of which processes some of the data above on our behalf: Cloudflare (license and download infrastructure), OVH (website hosting and email), and our payment processor (Gumroad). We don’t sell your data to anyone, and we don’t share it beyond what’s needed to run these services.
How long we keep it
We keep license and download records for as long as needed to provide support, enforce license terms, and meet any legal obligations. You can ask us to delete data that isn’t required for these purposes.
Your rights
If you’re in the EU/EEA or a jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
